Two-minute install

Installing outside the Play Store

Calorie Tally is a young app distributed straight from us, so Android asks one extra permission the first time. Here is the whole process:

Download the APK

Tap the button above on your phone. Chrome may warn that APK files "can harm your device"; that is Android's standard caution for any app outside the Play Store. Tap "Download anyway".

Open the file

Tap the finished download (or find it in your Files app). Android asks to allow installs from your browser: tap Settings, switch "Allow from this source" on, and go back.

Install and open

Tap Install. The tally-marks plate lands on your home screen. Open it and the app takes the tour from there, including getting your free AI key.

Updating later: download the new APK and install it over the old one. Your foods, recipes, and history all stay put.

An Android phone

Android 8 or newer. Camera for the photo and barcode features, microphone for voice logging. Both optional.

🔑

One free AI key

Only download Calorie Tally from this page. We never send the app by email or message, and we never ask for passwords, payment details, or your AI key anywhere outside the app on your own phone.
